Swampy left the band on saturday to concentrate on his solo stuff (www.myspace.com/sidecarswampy), not the best timing in the world as we'd 2 gigs but in true Captain style we battered on regardless! We met our newest drummer Will on saturday afternoon for the first time and got a few hours jammin in before he played his frst gig with us that night which went pretty well.
Then Sunday was our NI:NG gig in Brixton windmill with ASIWYFA, General Fiasco and Nipsy, Ned, Pat and Fred which went alot better than saturday night from our perspective anyway, ASIWYFA stole the show, those boys are unstoppable and we're really looking forward to playing with them again on the 27th of May at the Maze!
Stan will also be back on the scene again soon so we're almost back to a full line up and should be well rehearsed again and have some new material ready for our shows at the end of May which you can see below!
May 25th - Seabrawl @ the Blue Note, Derby (with Stig Noise System, Seas of Mirth and We are the Barnacles)
May 27th -The Maze Nottingham (with And So i watch you from afar, Beyond this point are monsters and The wickets)
May 31st - The Vic Inn, Derby (with Dinner music for hungry Cannibals and more tbc)
We've been quite busy recently with organising studio time and booking more gigs as well as playing as much as possible and working on new songs.
We're back in the studio on the 18th to start work on recording everything properly with Swampy. We're all very excited! WOOT WOOT!
We've sorted a few dates for the end of March with our new mates Let Our Enemies Beware from Chatham (solid guys ........check them out) the dates are as follows
23rd - The maze, Nottingham
24th - The wardwick, Derby
25th - The Dirty South, London

15th feb - The Cross Kings, London
16th feb - RIFF RAFF All day festival, Leicester
17th feb - The shed, Leicester (Showcase to play Glastonbudget festival
If you can make it to any of these it would be great to see you and we'll be playing some new material!
We're also still booking shows all over the UK for 2008 so if any bands or promoters want us to come play just drop us a line!
Take care!
Belated Happy New year!
We played our first gig of 2008 on saturday night and it was a wicked night, the sound was amazing, the crowd (there were actually ppl there a week after NYE) were very responsive and alot of fun was had by all.
Now we're getting our skates on and trying to keep ourselves busy this year, we're currently organising a mini tour of the UK for the end of March which Coda should be joining us on.
Theres also talk of doing an Irish tour in the summer but we'll keep you posted on that!
So if anyone wants us to come play just get in touch with us!
Hope 2008 has been treating you well so far!
So last night we introduced our new drummer swampy upon an unsuspecting derby and basically had a big open jam @ Susumi for the first time which was really cool, we played for about an hour and a half in all with alot fo different peopl joing us on bass and percussion as well as an mc (sounded ace) and randomly some old grey haired woman who decided to "sing" over whatever we were playing which was hilariously shite but she was enjoying herself! (it would have made a wicked band photo.
It was a fun gig and its got us in the mood to play alot more improvised sets and brought some new ideas to the new stuff we're working on!
We're going to see Future of the left tomorrow night which should be a lethal gig ....if you havent heard of them then check em out!
Then Saturday we're playing the I'm not from London/Audio massage :mini montage at The Maze, i think we're gonna play a partly improvised set along with some of our own songs and then proceed to get very wasted over the course of the day so stop by and say hello!
Tickets are available form www.wegottickets.com and the event is on from 2 til 2!
Since the last update alot has happened, James (our drummer) left the band due to commitment reasons so we've found a few new drummers to try out, we had a jam with a guy called Swampy on sunday night and it sounded badass!
Tonight (Wednesday 5th) we play Cityzen's monthly night at Susumi in Derby, obviously being drummerless means we're playing an improvised set and are expecting to do a few collaborations with some other artists so it should be an interesting event (doubly so cos my wrist is fucked so we'll see how it holds up!)
Also our final gig of 2007 is booked for saturday at The maze, Nottingham as part of the Audio massage and I'm not from London all dayer.....Again its gonna be partly improvised and i think swampy is drumming so we're defo throwing him in at the deep end after only one practice but after saturday we're gonna write alot of new tunes and get ready for 2008 and we'll be back on 5th January!
